Are thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) yoga mats a more environmental choice than PVC? - eco yoga
I bought a carpet of "TPE" and was told it was "the choice of the environment." But I think this is an oil and chemicals, and in no way "natural" in any way. Obviously, it is recyclable, but I think that 99% of purchasors simply throw away when you are finished, instead of melting and re-form into something else. Our local recycling center will not accept this product at this time.
Then the "eco" option for yoga mat, or was to be led astray by the marketing?

Unfortunately, it seems to have been "misled by the marketing, but something good out of it yet.
TPE are actually a great development. When it hit early on, you can prevent the world into a giant landfill. However, it is only a difference if they can be exploited in an appropriate facility. Nature is unable to reduce TPE and PVC.
Therefore, there are two parts to this question. In the long run you are always the difference. If people continue to refer TPE, the industry begins to recognize and to give facilities for PET recycling. However, in the short term, it's all about the same. If you are going to have to throw in any case not really count.
More difficult than in the concrete floor.
